Poems

I dabbled into poetry in middle school. I used to think my poems were amazing, with all of the rhyming and cleverness a middle school girl could muster. Once I realized how much I needed to improve in poetry, I just lost my passion for it. In high school, I began to hate it altogether. I didn’t understand the poems my teachers were giving me and it just wasn’t my style.

Fast forward to college, and I joined a poetry club as a means to make new friends and just to start writing again. It saved my life. The first poem I wrote made me realize that I could pour all of my academic frustrations, bad thoughts, and stresses of life onto a piece of paper (or type it). And it wouldn’t be just some diary entry; I could make something beautiful out of it.

I’ve written a lot of poems since that day, but I want to showcase the ones that are pretty solid. I’ll warn you ahead of time that most of my poems have adult content of some kind, whether that be language, theme, etc.
